LM&R Sponsor: De Montfort University To Host Event Business Breakfast

Leicester Made & Regions (LM&R), taking place on 24th April 2026 at De Montfort University, Leicester, is pleased to announce De Montfort University as the official host of the Leicester Made Business Breakfast, a key opening moment for this year’s event.

Organised by Fashion-Enter Ltd (FEL) and the Apparel and Textile Manufacturers Federation (ATMF), Leicester Made & Regions will bring together fashion and textile manufacturers, brands, designers, educators, innovators, policymakers and consumers from across the UK. The showcase aims to strengthen domestic supply chains, celebrate regional craftsmanship, and accelerate the shift towards sustainable, onshore and technology-driven fashion production.

The exclusive Leicester Made Business Breakfast, hosted by De Montfort University, will take place from 9:00 – 10:00am and is open to registered LM&R attendees. Designed as an informal networking session, the breakfast will bring together manufacturers, brands, industry leaders, educators and academics to explore the future of UK textile manufacturing and the critical role collaboration plays in driving innovation and growth.

With recognised expertise in textile design, engineering and sustainable manufacturing, De Montfort University works with organisations across the UK to translate research into practical, business-ready solutions. Through partnerships with industry, the university supports companies in developing new products, improving processes and building future-ready workforces.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn how working with DMU can support innovation through initiatives such as graduate-led projects, access to specialist facilities, expert academic insight, student talent and funded opportunities. The session will also provide a valuable platform for connecting with others shaping the UK textile sector and addressing shared challenges and opportunities.

In addition to hosting the Business Breakfast, De Montfort University will further showcase its commitment to industry collaboration by presenting an exhibition of student work and innovation-led research projects. Representatives from the university will also participate in a Leicester Made & Regions panel discussion, with further details to be announced, and will welcome a selection of teachers and tutors from local schools and colleges to support engagement with the future talent pipeline.

Jenny Holloway, CEO of Fashion-Enter Ltd and Chair of the Apparel and Textile Manufacturers Federation, commented: “De Montfort University has long been a champion of textile innovation, sustainability and education, and their involvement in Leicester Made & Regions is incredibly important. The Business Breakfast will set the tone for the day—bringing together industry and academia to share ideas, spark collaboration and explore practical solutions for the future of UK manufacturing.

“Their continued commitment to supporting businesses, nurturing talent and bridging the gap between research and industry is exactly what our sector needs as we move forward.”

The Leicester Made Business Breakfast is exclusively available to registered LM&R attendees, with breakfast served on a first come, first served basis.
