On 27th August, the Fashion-Enter Ltd Leicester team were thrilled to open the doors of their new premises, re-named the Fashion Hub, in the heart of the city. Supported by Leicester City Council and sponsor, the Triumph Needle Company, it was fantastic to welcome the likes of; Kerry Gray and Taoufik Beldi from Leicester Adult Education, Jackie Bertram from Barrie Knitwear, SallyAnne Kirk from Fashion District, Amy from Wesley Hall Community Centre and Simon Platts from ReComme amongst others.

The fully equipped space will not only provide courses in stitching, patterns, Worker’s Rights and Multiply skills but will house a Fashion Studio for sampling and patterns and a repairs service with partners United Repair Centre.

FEL Founder Jenny Holloway said: “As of August 24 the Fashion Hub will aim to bring circularity, ethics and true sustainability to the unique ecosystem of Leicester. There is no other region in the UK that can combine knitting, dying, printing, garment making, design and all technical support processes such as pattern making and grading like Leicester.

“FEL has sincerely won two bids, which effectively will provide free skills support to learners and employers. Opening such a large venture has been a huge team effort! Grateful thanks to Leicester City Council, Alan May and the team at Triumph Needle Company, and the amazing team at Fashion-Enter Ltd, who literally have worked night and day to open on time.”

The open day enrolled 12 individuals on the stitching and patterns courses, free places are available for those on a low income or are unemployed. If you would like to visit or enquire about courses / services at the Fashion Hub please contact: Divya: divya@fashion-enter.com
