On 26th March 2026, the FTA Fashion Hub marked a special occasion as students and staff came together to celebrate Eid, one of the most significant festivals in the Islamic calendar. The event was a vibrant reflection of the academy’s commitment to inclusivity, cultural awareness and community spirit.

The celebration brought learners and staff from diverse backgrounds together in a shared space of respect and understanding. Dressed in a variety of traditional outfits, attendees embraced the opportunity to showcase their cultural heritage. The atmosphere was further enriched by an array of traditional dishes and sweets, with participants contributing food from their own cultures. Sharing meals, an important part of Eid, symbolised unity and marked the end of Ramadan, a period of fasting, reflection and spiritual growth.
Beyond the festivities, the event also served as an educational experience. It provided students with a meaningful opportunity to learn about different cultures, strengthen friendships, and celebrate diversity within the academy. Moments like these reinforce the importance of mutual respect and help foster a more inclusive learning environment.
The celebration was further enhanced by the presence of representatives from the Workers’ Educational Association (WEA), one of the UK’s leading providers of adult education. During the session, they introduced students to a range of courses and development opportunities available beyond their current studies. Their guidance offered valuable insight into how learners can build new skills, grow in confidence, and explore future pathways after completing their time at the academy.
Students responded warmly to the event, with FTA Hub Administrator Sanna, sharing: “As a Muslim, it was great to see Eid celebrated at our academy. As myself and many of our students had been fasting for the month of Ramadan, it was nice to have a day where we could all celebrate Eid together, despite being from different cultures. We all brought in food from our own cultures and shared it with everyone, allowing us all to try foods we had never been introduced to.”

Overall, the Eid celebration at FTA Fashion Hub was more than just a festive gathering, it was a celebration of diversity, inclusion and shared experiences.
