Leicester Fashion Hub and ATMF Hosts Monthly Discounted Fabric & Garment Sales

The Leicester Fashion Hub, in partnership with the Apparel and Textile Manufacturers Federation (ATMF), have been hosting a monthly discounted fabric, deadstock, sample and garment sale at its premises, Phoenix House, Leicester, creating new opportunities for circularity, skills development, and community access within the local fashion and textiles sector.

The initiative enables manufacturers and suppliers to sell unused stock, including surplus fabrics, samples and finished garments, while offering affordable materials to local makers, students, designers and home sewers. By keeping valuable textiles in use, the sales support sustainable practice and help reduce waste across the supply chain.

Strong Community Response

The most recent In-House Fabric Sale, held on 27th January, welcomed a wide cross-section of the local creative community. Attendees included current and former Leicester Fashion Hub learners, local students, and first-time visitors, many sourcing materials for sewing, repair, and upcycling projects. The event highlighted strong demand for accessible, low-cost textiles and reinforced the role of the Fashion Hub as a connector between industry and grassroots creativity.

Supporting Skills, Access and Circularity

Delivered in collaboration with ATMF, the monthly sales align with shared goals to:

  • Support responsible stock management and reuse
  • Increase access to quality textiles for education and creative practice
  • Strengthen local manufacturing and making communities
  • Encourage sustainable and circular approaches to fashion production

What’s Next

Further sales will be announced in due course, with each event offering a rotating selection of deadstock fabrics, samples and garments from across the industry.
