The Fashion Technology Academy in the heart of Leicester is now enrolling for the next cohort of learners for the Level 1 Award in Stitching Course.
Starting on Monday 14th July the Level 1 Award in Stitching is a 5-week course that teaches the fundamentals of using a variety of industrial sewing machines: how to set them up and use them safely, maintain the machines and identify the correct settings for the fabric.
Learners will practice a variety of sewing techniques to produce a range of stitch samples, measuring, cutting and constructing a basic pattern, and learn to identify what is good and poor quality.
To be eligible for free course funding you need to be:
- Above 19 years of age
- Residing in England Non-devolved area
- Availing of DWP benefits
- Earning below £23K
The FTA Leicester has flexibility with daily start and finish times to accommodate individual needs.
