They are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Linker and Apparel Machinist to join their team.
Job Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for linking and finishing knitwear products to the highest standards. This role involves operating knitting machines, ensuring garments are linked, sewn, and finished according to design specifications. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of knitwear production processes, and experience handling a variety of knitting machines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate linking and finishing machines to join and complete knitted garments.
- Perform quality checks throughout the production process to ensure garments meet design specifications and quality standards.
- Set up and adjust machines, ensuring that they are properly maintained for optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot machine issues and carry out minor repairs when necessary.
- Ensure garments are finished with high attention to detail, including hemming, edging, and other finishing touches.
- Work closely with the design and production teams to ensure production deadlines are met.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist in the training and development of junior machinists as required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in the production process.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in linking and apparel machining, particularly in knitwear manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of knitting and linking machine operations and maintenance.
- Ability to work with a range of knit fabrics, including wool, cotton, and synthetic materials.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality finished products.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Experience working with electronic and mechanical knitting machines is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- A proactive approach to health and safety practices.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a similar role within a knitwear or apparel manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of garment finishing techniques such as pressing, folding, and packing.
- Familiarity with quality control standards in knitwear production.
